The handling is just great, I have big hands and my hand grips perfectly onto the camera. The button layout is almost perfect, and of course, the image quality is about the same as the R5, besides the resolution.

What I like/dislike about the Canon R6 II
Like
- I’ve got loads pf great things to say about the R6 II, starting with the dynamic range. I have pushed images with high ISOs and they look great. Colors are popping and I didn’t notice lots of noise.
- Ergonomically, the R6 II is mostly perfect. The buttons are right where they need to be and I could reach each dial fairly easily. One thing I wish the R6 II had, is a top screen like the R5. A lot of times, the camera is close to the ground, making it harder to see the settings.
- It’s not too heavy or light, it’s actually pretty well-balanced. If you use heavier lenses, most cameras feel out of balance, but that wasn’t the case with the R6 II.
- 24 MP is more than enough for landscape photography, in my opinion. The resolution makes sure the dynamic range is still great, so the noise levels aren’t too high when you push the image.
Dislike
- I have to address one thing I don’t like. First, when using the electronic shutter, you have less dynamic range. That is due to the 12-bit RAWs instead of 14-bit. I noticed that in the noise levels of the shadows.

It feels professional, but I didn’t like the blocky design. In that way, I like the Canon cameras more. Overall I think it’s the best camera for landscape photography and video, with very few flaws.

What I like/dislike about the Sony A7 IV
Like
- Let me start with the design, which I do like a lot. The grip has been improved over the previous model, the A7 III. It is bigger and, while I have large hands, it feels comfortable.
- Now, there are 4 dials on the top, with which you can adjust settings like ISO, shutter and aperture. The button layout it perfect for my likings, the joystick is also right where my thumb is, or at least, easily accessible.
- Talking about image quality, it’s excellent. The dynamic range is about 14-stops and getting details back in post is not hard. The noise level seems to be low, although the resolution is quite high. You see a lot less noise than the 45 MP bodies, so that’s fortunate.
- You can charge the A7 IV while using it, using the USB-C cable and a powerbank, is you’re shooting timelapses, it’s a handy feature. Although the battery life is incredible, I used it for hours without shutting down.
Dislike
- I hardly have any bad points about the A7 IV, besides the fact that I don’t like the blocky design. It damages a lot quicker and you can see that with used A7 bodies.

As landscape photographers, we often have to work with slower shutter speeds. It is not always possible to take a tripod with you, due to the weight during long walking routes.
