Nikon New Camera Launch 2023: See what’s coming

New nikon cameras in 2023 specifications

We all want to know which Nikon cameras will be launched in 2023, but it is difficult to say exactly. Of course, we’ve already seen a few new cameras, such as the Nikon Z8 and Nikon Z f. Both are real gems, but more cameras are on the way.

I have collected and listed all Nikon rumors. This way you don’t have to visit 10 other pages to see the latest rumors. You can find everything here.

In this article, I will tell you exactly which new Nikon cameras will be launched in 2023, including all the specifications that I have found so far.

Which Nikon cameras will be launched in 2023?

2023 has already been a very good year for Nikon, with both the Nikon Z8 and the Nikon Z f having been launched, we have nothing to complain about. Still, it looks like Nikon will release another camera, which will be in late 2023 or early 2024. I’ll tell you which camera that is in a moment.

It is clear that Nikon is focusing on the professional market, we have not seen a beginner camera with new specs for a while. So it’s time for that to happen, and it will happen.

The Nikon Z50 II is coming, which has updated specs. The more professional Nikon Z6 III will also be launched soon. Let me tell you all about it!

To start, I want to share the Nikon Z6 III with you, this is a camera that is very popular among photographers. Everything that was wrong with the Nikon Z6 II has been improved.

The autofocus in particular will be a lot better and the sensor will also receive an update. Now the Z6 III will have a 30-33MP sensor, which means Nikon will have to develop a completely new sensor.

The Nikon Z f seems to be a preview of what we can expect in the Z6 III.

Nikon’s Z6 Mark III will be launched in Q4 2023/Q1 2024.

Specifications

  • 33MP CMOS sensor
  • EXPEED 7(/8) image processor
  • Built-in image stabilization
  • 20/30 frames per second burst
  • Improved focus mechanism

  • 4K 60p video
  • FHD 120 fps video
  • Record HDR and ProRes RAW video
  • Internal 10-bit recordings
  • Price under $2500

Nikon is launching the Nikon Z7 III alongside the Z6III, as the successor to the Z7 II. Logically, the Z7 III has a high-megapixel sensor, most likely a 60-megapixel sensor.

The autofocus could use an improvement, as the Z7 II is not very good for action. Nikon’s Z f is also a first in this regard.

I expect the Nikon Z7 Mark III to also be launched in Q4 2023/Q1 2024.

View the entire article I wrote about the Z7 III here.

Specifications

  • 60-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor
  • Dual EXPEED 7 processors
  • 4K 60p in N-LOG
  • 10-bit video output (HDMI)
  • FHD 120fps
  • 493 focus points
  • Phase detect auto focus system
  • Double memory card slots

Nikon Z50 II

Relatively little is known about the third camera, the current Nikon Z50 is very popular and already quite good. Of course, much can be improved.

The Nikon Z50 II will have improved video options, such as 4K 60fps in N-Log and HDR. It would make sense if you did have a crop here.

Nikon’s Z50 II will be launched in Q2 2024 according to my expectations.

Specifications

  • 24 megapixel APS-C sensor
  • 11 fps burst mode
  • 4K 60fps video recording
  • N-Log and HDR capabilities
  • 120 fps FHD video
  • New image processor
  • New focusing mechanism

There are also rumors going around that Nikon will release a new Z5 in the form of the Nikon Z5 II. After 3 years that is also expected, because the Z5 is already outdated.

Nikon can work hard, especially in the autofocus area, because we know they can do it with the Z8. The Z5 is not strong in this area, so the successor will be a lot better.

The Z5 II is also expected in Q2 of 2024.

You can read the entire article about the Z5 II here.

Specifications

  • 24-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor
  • 4K 60p video (without crop)
  • FHD video at 120 fps
  • 10 frames per second burst
  • New focusing mechanism
  • Double memory card slots
  • 3.2″ tilting touchscreen
  • Very high resolution viewfinder

Because Nikon mainly focuses on the professional market, it seems a logical choice to launch a high-end APS-C body.

The name is not completely known, but the Nikon Z90 makes sense. A kind of small Nikon Z8/Z9 and the competitor of the Canon R7.

There’s a good chance that the Nikon Z90 will be launched sometime in 2024, so they can’t be too far behind.

You can read the entire article about the Z90 here.

Specifications

  • 33-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor
  • 4K 60p video (without crop)
  • FHD video in 120 fps (possibly 180 fps)
  • 15 frames per second burst
  • Improved focusing mechanism
  • Double memory card slots
  • 3.2″ tilting touchscreen
  • High resolution viewfinder

Nikon recently announced the brand new Nikon Z f. It is a full-frame camera with a retro look, which gives it an antique feel and makes it feel really nostalgic.

Fortunately, the specs are not from the 80s, it has a 25 MP sensor and excellent video functions, which are really perfect for all situations.

With 6 different colors, there is something for everyone.
